Medical and scientific research (see ProjectCBD.org) has identified a myriad of diseases and illnesses that find relief through the use of cannabis compounds. These compounds, found in the trichombs (crystalline hair-like resinous structures) produced by Cannabis to protect flower pods and leaves from invaders, are called cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are the two most notable and researched of these over 200 chemical compounds. While CBD and THC get the headlines, research has now identified 113 cannabinoids, 100 terpenes, and 20 flavonoids, all of which can benefit health by interacting with the CB1 & CB2 cell receptors of our organs, neurological and immune systems. These receptors make up our endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is found in all mammals. While any one of these compounds can benefit health, science has discovered the entourage effect, which means that the greatest healing benefits of cannabis is derived from a whole plant extraction when all of these compounds are working in synergy. The cannabis entourage effect works to improve the bodies homeostasis, which is a state in which all the bodies chemistry is in proper balance.
CBD DISOLATES & ISOLATES
Hemp CBD isolstes, just as the name indicates, are products that contian only CBD Cannabidiol. CBD Gummies and tinctures are made with isolates for the purpose of exact dosing of CBD.
What's the Difference Between Hemp and Marijuana; Cannabis Cannabinoid Compounds?
The difference between Hemp and Marijuana has to do with the one, most famous, Cannabis compounds, THC. THC is the only Cannabis cannabiniod that has a narcotic effect. Because of this, Hemp is required by law to have less than 0.3% THC. Therefore a Cannabis plant is legally considered hemp if it contains less than 0.3% THC and is legally called marijuana with greater than 0.3% THC. Otherwise all other cannabis compounds can be found in either hemp or marijuana in varying degrees depending on the strain, and all those 200+ compounds, including THC, have medicinal properties and the potential to contribute to homeostasis.

All cannabis compounds, cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes, are regulated under the Cannabis Act and no Cannabinoids can legally be bought or sold without licence from Health Canada.
